The DIXIE ROCK Climbing Competition, presented by Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation
Longest running indoor competition in America
Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation is excited to announce its 29th Annual DIXIE ROCK Indoor Rock Climbing Competition, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17, at the Chapel Hill Community Center (120 S. Estes Dr.).
Join us for the longest-running indoor climbing competition in the U.S.! This year we're celebrating 29 years with a friendly competition for all ages. Climbing divisions include Youth, Recreation, Intermediate and Open divisions. Registration and preliminary climbs will take place Friday from 6–9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. If you’re not a climber, join as a spectator for the finals which begin at 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
This year, new rules allow competitors to climb up to three attempts per route during preliminaries to earn as many points as they can. Prizes for the top three competitors in each division include adventure trips/passes, climbing gear and much more!
Parking is free. Additional parking can be found behind the facility at Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices (200 Plant Road). As always, the Town of Chapel Hill promotes a Bike & Pedestrian-Friendly Community and encourages everyone to cycle or walk whenever attending these great events!
There is no better way to strengthen your local community than coming to local events!
